Yes, Even Heidi Klum Gets Chin Hairs—Here’s How She Gets Rid of Them

You might think that you and supermodel Heidi Klum have zero in common (same!), but I’m about to change your mind. While chatting with the TV host and mom of four about her latest partnership with self-care brand PosheEra, Heidi shared that she, indeed, gets chin hairs too. “I have one!” she says proudly. “I have a chin hair and I have a boob hair—I would say it’s as long as my pinky finger. It’s like, ‘Where are you coming from all of a sudden; you were not there yesterday.’ The one that I have on my chin is hard; it’s hanging on for dear life. If I come with a tweezer, when I pull it out, it’s a whole tree trunk!” she laughs. “It’s strange what happens with age. All of a sudden, you have hairs growing out of various places.” Celebs! They really are just like us!

Heidi’s Take on Leg Stubble

When it comes to her body hair, Heidi admits she’s a bit traditional in regards to hair on her legs. “I like to be smooth,” she says. While body hair is personal (if you like it, leave it!), I wanted to know how she keeps her famous legs silky smooth. While you might think she gets fancy, professional treatments, Heidi swears by this electric razor.

What Makes This New Razor Special?

How do you use it?

“When I tried it, I thought, ‘Why haven’t we had this sooner?'” she says. “It’s an amazing, luxury beauty tool. You can use it wet or dry, so here your options are open to whatever your life is about.” So how does Heidi use it? “I like using it wet in the bathtub because I love being warm and soaking in Epsom salts, but I also love using it while I’m lounging in bed while I’m watching my favorite show—the little hairs get sucked right up into the PusheEra,” she explains.

What is the long handle for?

The razor also comes with a stick. “The stick is great if you are having a hard time reaching for places; if you’re a little older and can’t reach certain places; it’s like an extension of your arm.” (I wish I would have know about this when my mom had her hip replaced or when I was sending my friends who had C-sections postpartum gifts.)

What’s your favorite part about it?

“What I love the most is that it’s better for our planet,” she says. “I don’t know how many times you buy the razors and there are so many throw-away razors and it’s just like polluting our planet. You recharge this and you don’t make so much garbage.”

Do you use it with shaving cream?

“When you do it dry, you don’t need any other product, either, so you don’t need shaving cream or mousse. You can put the head right on your skin and get going,” Klum says.

Does it hurt or cause razor burn?

It doesn’t hurt and it’s irritation free; no razor burn. You can use it everywhere—pits, legs, bikini area—because there are two heads; one is for precision and one is for wider areas. Heidi assured me that even with her long nails, it’s easy to pop the heads—and the handle—on and off.

Heidi’s Thoughts on Confidence

She gets it from her mama

While hair removal helps Heidi feel sexy these days, she’s always been a confident person. “My mom said you have to be happy with the person you see in the mirror; you live your life with you, and if you’re not happy with you, it’s hard to be happy with anything that’s happening outside of you. I think our confidence gets better with age,” Klum says. “I just did a campaign with my mom—she’s 81. I look at her, and I’m like, ‘Dang it, I hope I’m going to look like this at 80.’ I’m not very critical on myself,” she explains.

She focuses on gratitude

Another thing that helps with her confidence? Gratitude. “I try to be positive and I’m thankful for every day that I have,” Klum says.

Her favorite drugstore product

I couldn’t let her go without asking her favorite drugstore beauty product. She said she’s been a fan of L’Oréal Paris’s Voluminous Mascara for over 20 years. (Heidi works with the company.) “I never thought that anything could top it, but now I love the Panorama Mascara. Even my makeup artist, who I’ve been working with for many years, she even swapped now.”
