South-east England and East Anglia are likely to see temperatures widely reaching 25-27C on Saturday.
It’s possible the mercury could rise to 29C in some spots, threatening the highest temperature of the year so far which currently stands at 29.3C, recorded at Kew on 1 May.
It will feel warm and humid today across England and Wales but it’s in eastern counties of England that we are likely to see the highest temperatures.
Spring has already been confirmed as the sunniest on record, with temperature and rainfall close to record breaking levels too.
Sunday 1 June marks the start of summer on the meteorological calendar.
