Trader Joe’s Just Dropped a $4 Dubai-Style Chocolate Bar—and Shoppers Are Already Obsessed

Trader Joe’s is finally getting in on the Dubai chocolate trend! After rumors that TJ’s was debuting a filled chocolate bar inspired by Dubai chocolate, which has gone viral on social media in recent months, the California-based grocery chain has officially released its take on the wildly popular sweet treat.

Traditionally, Dubai chocolate is a milk chocolate bar filled with a creamy pistachio filling that often includes tahini and kataifi—shredded filo pastry. According to information obtained by REAL SIMPLE via a Trader Joe’s spokesperson, the TJ’s take is very similar (though not identical) to a traditional Dubai chocolate bar. 

More specifically, the TJ’s version, which retails for $3.99, is made for the retailer by Patislove and is a 50% dark chocolate bar filled with a combination of smooth pistachio cream and crispy kataifi. Per the Patislove website, each 100-gram bar is made with high-quality Turkish pistachios, and is artisan-crafted in Turkey with zero preservatives and artificial dyes. 

So, when can you get your hands on one of these delectable chocolate bars? In short, it depends, though the bars are expected to be available nationwide by the end of the week. “Starting this week, for a limited time, we plan to offer Patislove Dubai Style Pistachio Dark Chocolate for $3.99. The exact date of its arrival in stores may vary,” a Trader Joe’s spokesperson explained. “Customers can ask Crew Members in their neighborhood Trader Joe’s store if they have questions about availability.” 

And while the chocolate bars are currently available for a limited time, there’s a chance they could become a permanent fixture in TJ’s outposts across the country. “We believe that customers ‘vote’ on what they love—and what they want to see more of—with their dollars,” the Trader Joe’s spokesperson added. “In other words, if our customers really love this product, we can certainly get more.”

If customer feedback is any indication, the Patislove Dubai Style Pistachio Dark Chocolate bars will likely be around for a long time. “Just got one in San Dimas today. I already dusted the whole thing,” one Reddit user shared. “I was thrilled to see that this is made with dark chocolate. OMG! It did not disappoint in any way. Everything about it was amazing.”

Another shopper from Southern California declared that she prefers the TJ’s chocolate bar to a similar product available at Costco, writing: “I have only tried the milk chocolate praline version from Costco and I like this bar better! It has a nice buttery taste that reminds me of cookie butter but pistachio. It is decently crunchy from the kataifi.”
