The Television Academy, which presents the Primetime Emmy Awards, is now taking final For Your Consideration panels into its own hands with the announcement of Televerse, its inaugural TV festival experience organized for both industry insiders and fans of television. The goal is an unparalleled immersive look at the world’s most popular entertainment universe, with the event set from August 14 to 16 at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, California.
The Television Academy, representing the largest and most inclusive group of industry professionals of any television industry organization, sees itself as being uniquely positioned to explore TV “outside the box” with extraordinary access to today’s top creators and storytellers, dynamic panels featuring this year’s Emmy-nominated programs and stars, and behind-the-scenes trade secrets of celebrated shows at the inaugural three-day festival.
The organization reports that plans are underway with partners at every studio, network, platform and with innovative tech companies to present insider discussions, meet-and-greets, interactive exhibits, premieres and previews of upcoming programs. The programming falls in line with the type of events the TV Academy has been offering members, which include recent panels on how TV handles women’s reproductive health, and an AI summit navigating the ways in which that technology could be used to enhance TV shows.
Televerse is said to celebrate television’s innovative storytellers and beloved content, providing attendees with an unprecedented opportunity to look at television beyond flatscreens and into the future — gaining access and understanding of the creative and development processes behind their favorite programs, the intersection of technology and imagination, the strategy behind key business decisions, and future innovations.
For the first time, Emmy voters attending Televerse will have access to Television Academy-sanctioned “For Your Consideration” panels featuring this year’s Emmy nominees in key program categories prior to the final round of Emmy voting. Before, it was up to the networks and studios to organize FYC events for the final round of voting.
“This is an exciting time in the evolution of television and the Academy, and our members are at the forefront of cutting-edge production and innovative storytelling,” said Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego. “We will bring the best in the business together for Televerse, deliver remarkable access to a wide range of programming, and provide an extraordinary forum for the exchange of new ideas and industry innovation.”
Televerse will also offer insights from award-winning artisans and craftspeople and exclusive previews of new programming. An immersive event space will give attendees an interactive way to experience television and close the distance between creators and fans.
Attendees will be able to pre-register by May 30, 2025, at the Televerse website to be the first to receive news and additional information and get 24-hour advance notice whenever new panels are added or open for registration, allowing them a first chance to purchase passes and secure seats.
The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, September 14, live on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET/ 5:00 p.m. PT.
