The Lonely Island confirm that’s not Justin Timberlake singing on ‘Jizz in My Pants’

Justin Timberlake has a brief cameo in the Lonely Island‘s “Jizz in My Pants” video — but contrary to popular belief, he actually didn’t contribute to the song itself.

During an episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, and Andy Samberg reflected on their viral song “Jizz in My Pants,” which premiered on Saturday Night Live in 2008. “Timberlake helped us so much, I remember people online being like, oh, ‘Timberlake’s singing with them at the end,’ because they probably also thought we couldn’t have possibly made it sound [good],” Schaffer said.

Taccone added, “I think that’s just Andy. I’m not even sure I’m singing it.”

Samberg confirmed, “You’re not.”

Schaffer stated, “It’s just Andy. But they just didn’t think we had the know-how to make it sound this good — which is right in a way because [Justin’s] the one that taught us.”

Timberlake’s short appearance in the “Jizz in My Pants” video still proved to be a huge asset, even though he wasn’t involved with the song’s recording.

“He did us a huge solid,” Samberg said. “I remember when this video aired, and we were still like, ‘I’m going to see every single thing that got written about us on the internet. I’m going to look at everything,’ you know? And all the headlines were Justin.”

Schaffer confirmed that the “Cry Me a River” singer’s cameo gave the segment “a huge bump” in popularity. “It helped it tremendously,” he said.

Timberlake previously collaborated with the Lonely Island on their 2006 hit “Dick in a Box,” and later sang with the comedians on 2011’s “Motherlover” and “3-Way (The Golden Rule).” He also played a small part in the trio’s 2016 movie Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and contributed vocals to the song “Incredible Thoughts” on the film’s soundtrack.

“The fact that he did it just to put his stamp on it, it’s hard to measure how huge it is,” Schaffer said of the NSYNC superstar’s “Jizz in My Pants” cameo.
