The Roller Coaster Capital of the World adds another jewel this season with the record-breaking Siren’s Curse. This new tilt coaster will be North America’s tallest, fastest, and longest, with a compact track packed with surprises. A tilt coaster is unique as you “dead stop” at the top of the lift hill, hovering above a 90-degree drop for seconds. Once the track sets into place, gravity takes control and sends you barreling down into the track at speeds that reach 58 mph. The ride’s theme is tied to its location on Lake Erie, where lore tells of “sirens” from Greek mythology, known for sending sailors to their demise. This is a nice touch of eerie right on Erie. Also of note, Top Thrill 2 will officially be open the entire season. Due to engineering issues, the 420-foot, 120-mph reboot of Top Thrill Dragster shut down early during its debut season last year. It returns for what promises to be Cedar Point’s most popular season yet.
