That $285M Florida House Is Still for Sale—But a Nearby Home Recently Sold for $50M

The most-expensive home sold in the U.S. last month is on some ritzy ground—not far from the country’s most-expensive home listing.

That latter house, a $285 million dollar home in Manalapan, Fla., on which Investopedia reported last month, is still for sale, and still the most expensive listing. Meanwhile, real-estate listings company Redfin said Wednesday, a home up the street was in the highest-dollar home sale in the U.S. last month at a fraction of the price.

Listed for nearly $60 million, the home located at 1400 S. Ocean Blvd., a short drive up the Atlantic coast and roughly between West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, sold last month for just shy of $50 million. The fully furnished European-styled villa features seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in over 16,000 square feet with a guest house, two elevators, and over 200 feet of ocean frontage. 

Another nearby home hit the market last month with an asking price between the two, at $150 million. Coastal Florida was home to seven of the 10 highest-priced U.S. home sales last month, according to Redfin, and four of the top five.
