There’s a long way to go in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but if the first round is any indication, well, we have a lot to look forward to.
The second round gets underway Monday with the defending Cup champion Florida Panthers visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The Panthers are -125 money-line favorites Monday and -175 to win the series.
In the other Eastern semi, the Washington Capitals will host the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
And where do we even begin with the Western Conference?
One day after the Dallas Stars pulled off a miraculous third-period comeback in Game 7 against the Colorado Avalanche, the Winnipeg Jets one-upped them on Sunday night.
The Presidents’ Trophy winners scored with 1:56 left in regulation against the St. Louis Blues to get within 3-2 before netting an improbable game-tying score in the waning seconds to force overtime.
Adam Lowry would then deflect Neal Pionk‘s shot past Jordan Binnington at 16:10 of the second overtime for the winner.
The Jets will now face the Stars in the Western Conference semifinals in the teams’ first postseason meeting.
Game 1 is Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights will get their series going Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
