Signature Entertainment has announced it has acquired the U.K., Irish and Latin American rights to horror “The Beldham” from The Coven.
The feature is produced by Talia Bella (“Cottonmouth”), Angela Gulner (“The Summoned”), Mark Meir (“The Summoned”) and Randy Wayne (“Cottonmouth”), and is written and directed by first time feature director Angela Gulner (“Binge”). The film stars Patricia Heaton (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), Corbin Bernsen (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”), Katie Parker (“The Fall of the House of Usher”) and Emma Fitzpatrick (“The Social Network,” “In Time,” “Take Back the Night”).
“The Beldham” had its worldwide premiere at Sitges International Film Festival 2024, and also played at Filmquest, where Gulner won best director and Heaton won best supporting actress.
The film follows single mother who moves in with her own mother to renovate a fading suburban farmhouse. Soon, she finds herself haunted by a threatening presence who seems to have designs on her infant child.
The deal was negotiated between Signature Entertainment’s acquisitions executive Olivia Pastor and The Coven’s head of sales Anelle Dehghani.
“What blew me away was how such a frightening supernatural horror could leave the audience with such raw emotion by the end. The story is woven so masterfully. Director Angela Gulner should be on every watchlist in town,” said Priscilla Ross Smith of The Coven.
