Selma Blair says famous singer-actor left their date after finding no food in her fridge

Selma Blair is name-dropping the famous singer-actor who couldn’t stomach another minute of being on a date with her after discovering that she had no food in her fridge.

The Cruel Intentions star, 52, recalled the incident on Tuesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show during a conversation about her hope of potentially settling down with someone special in the future.

“I haven’t given up on romance, but I’m not knowing how to try,” Blair confessed. “Once, when I was even younger, there was a potential. There was actually an actor — Robbie Williams was over my house and it was almost a date. A million years ago.”

While Blair described Williams as an actor, the 50-year-old is more commonly known as a singer-songwriter and former member of British boy band Take That. However, Williams recently made the leap from stage to screen in his own biopic, Better Man.

Blair explained that the mood between her and singer abruptly shifted after he stopped by her kitchen.

“He opens up my refrigerator and he’s like, ‘I gotta go,’” she recalled, before noting that she reached out to a mutual friend to find out what went wrong. “I’m like, ‘Why did he leave so abruptly?’ [And they said], ‘Oh, your kitchen was empty and he knew you don’t cook, so that wasn’t gonna work for him.’”

Blair applauded Williams’ decision in the end, adding, “Bravo to him for knowing he needed a tummy filled from his woman.”

Host Drew Barrymore, however, wasn’t fully on board with the “Candy” singer’s sudden dismissal. “There’s also DoorDash,” she pointed out. To which Blair replied, “There wasn’t at the time. It was like 30 years ago, probably.”

And, honestly, Blair admitted her fridge was likely pretty empty at the time. “I probably had like a bottle of champagne and like a Fig Newton in the fridge from a year ago,” she teased. “So he judged accurately that I wasn’t the one that was gonna nourish him.”

Williams ultimately found what he was looking for in his relationship with actress Ayda Field, whom he married in 2010. The couple share four children together: Theodora “Teddy” Rose, Charlton “Charlie” Valentine, Colette “Coco” Josephine, and Beau Benedict Enthoven.

Blair, on the other hand, is mom to son Arthur Saint Bleick, whom she shares with her ex-partner, fashion designer Jason Bleick.
