Oscars Studio Scorecard: Neon Reigns Supreme with Five Wins

Five years after storming the Oscars with best picture winner Parasite, Neon topped the ceremony thanks to Anora.

The indie studio run by Tom Quinn took home five statues at the 2025 Oscars for Anora (best picture, best director, best actress for Mikey Madison, best original screenplay and best editing). Anora writer-director Sean Baker himself took home four Oscars, a first, for producing, directing, writing and editing the movie.

Netflix, which came into the ceremony as the leader with 18 noms (powered by Emilia Pérez), left with just three wins: best supporting actress for Zoe Saldaña and best original song for Emilia Pérez and best documentary short for The Only Girl in the Orchestra

A24 likewise landed three wins for The Brutalist (best actor for Adrien Brody, cinematography and score).

Universal took two wins for Wicked, out of 10 noms for the film, landing statues for best costume design and production design. Warner Bros. also snagged two wins, for Dune: Part II for best sound and visual effects.

They were followed by one win each for Disney’s Searchlight (A Real Pain‘s best supporting actor win for Kieran Culkin), Universal’s Focus (adapted screenplay for Conclave), MUBI (makeup and hairstyling for The Substance) and Sideshow/Janus (best animated feature for Flow).

Several other winners do not yet have U.S. distribution.

Here’s the full breakdown:
