Millie Bobby Brown: actress and… zookeeper?
The Stranger Things star, who lives on a farm in Georgia, recently discussed her ever-growing stable of pets, revealing that she owns a whopping 62 animals.
“I have 25 farm animals, and then I have 23 foster dogs, and then I have 10 dogs in my house that are my personal dogs, and four cats,” she revealed in a new interview with BBC Radio 1.
When asked where the in-house dogs sleep, Brown said, “I have gotten them real single beds.” But she also noted that her husband, Jake Bongiovi, set strict rules about the animals’ sleeping quarters: “Only one is allowed in the bed now because Jake said, ‘No more in the bed.'”
Among the dogs are a rottweiler, a golden retriever, a Great Dane, and “an 18-year-old blind dachshund called Rigby.” Brown said she found Rigby “left on the side of the road” and decided to take him in because she assumed he was on his last legs.
“I took him thinking, ‘He’s not got long left, he’s blind, can’t find his way through,'” Brown recalled. “Well, this dog is jumping on my couch now. It’s found a new lease [on] life.”
Brown said she’s had Rigby for “a year” at this point, and he only seems to be improving.
“He is thriving. I mean, killing it,” she said. “Knows the house. I feel like he’s becoming unblind. He starts to look around and he knows where the food is and the bedroom is. He’s getting really good. I used to call him Rigor Mortis because I really thought he was on his way out. He is nowhere close to death. Let me tell you, this dog is — he is killing it.”

The actress will soon welcome at least one more animal into the fold. “My donkey is pregnant,” she announced. “Betsy and Bernard got together, had a great night out, and now she’s preggers.”

Brown explained that donkeys don’t get along with her dogs — which is why she got them in the first place. “They will kill a dog if they see a dog. The reason I got them is because I get coyotes, so I got a donkey to deter the coyotes from eating my little dogs,” she said. “I have two donkeys, and one day I went out and Betsy was just — she had a very big stomach, and I got my ultrasound machine out and I saw ribs, and they weren’t Betsy’s.”
Brown’s animal collective has expanded rapidly. The BBC checked in on her herd less than two years ago, when she said she had only 19 animals — including a pony named Lemonade, a rabbit named Bellatrix, and three goats.
