Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos celebrate nearly 3 decades together: ‘Happy 29th anniversary, sexy’

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos celebrated a big anniversary Wednesday, and they seemed to be as in love as ever.

“Happy 29th anniversary, sexy,” Consuelos captioned an Instagram post showing photos of the couple together in recent years, set to Stevie Wonder‘s song “As.”

Ripa, his cohost on TV’s Live With Kelly and Mark, paid tribute with an undated vintage photo and a modern-day snapshot of them at a restaurant. “Italian Renaissance. Amore eterno,” she captioned it, using the Italian phrase meaning eternal love for her part-Italian sweetheart. “Happy 29th Anniversary @instasuelos!”

Ripa and Consuelos famously met on the set of All My Children in 1995, when he was cast on the soap that she had been on since 1991. She described their first encounter to PEOPLE in 1999, noting that he looked “gorgeous.”

“I looked really gross,” said Ripa, who was makeup-free and had her hair in rollers. She scrambled to fix herself up before Consuelos saw her. “I wanted him to see me looking like a normal person!”

She had no need to worry, because Consuelos was soon as smitten as she was.

The couple wed May 1, 1996, at the Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas.

They went on to share three adult children: Michael, 27; Lola, 23; and 22-year-old Joaquin.

Lola sent her best wishes, via Instagram Stories, to “my icons” on their special day, with several throwback photos.

They’ve been morning TV costars since 2023, after he took over Ryan Seacrest’s gig. (Ripa had hosted since 2001, when she sat alongside the late Regis Philbin.)

She and Consuelos took a moment during Thursday’s show to recognize the significance of the date, and they even walked onto the set to the Wonder song that Consuelos used in his post. (They did the same in 2024, when she said, per PEOPLE, that the Grammy winner’s music is “the soundtrack of our life together.”)

Their banter on their latest special day included Ripa asking her husband who they would have married if not each other.

Consuelos answered (wisely) that he would “probably be single.”

Ripa joked that the audience was hearing “absolute lies.”
