Jude Law and Andrew Garfield Cast as Siegfried & Roy in Apple TV+ Series ‘Wild Things’

One of the wildest chapters in Las Vegas history is about to get the Hollywood treatment courtesy of a very starry Apple TV+ series.

Jude Law and Andrew Garfield have signed on to play legendary Vegas magicians Siegfried & Roy in the limited series “Wild Ones,” IndieWire has confirmed. Law is set to play Siegfried Fischbacher and Garfield will play Roy Horn in the eight episode series, which is adapted from the Apple Original Podcast “Wild Ones: Siegfried & Roy.” The news was first reported by Variety.

Known for their flamboyant costumes and elaborate stage show that involved live lions and tigers, Siegfried & Roy became one of the most popular acts on the Las Vegas strip in the 1990s. Their lucrative residency at the Mirage grossed over half a billion dollars throughout the ’90s. But the duo, who were also romantically involved throughout their lives, saw their careers come to an end when Roy was attacked on stage by one of their live tigers, which damaged his spine and induced a stroke that left him partially paralyzed. The Mirage show was permanently shut down, though Siegfried & Roy revived their act (tigers and all) for one final benefit show in 2009.

Per an official synopsis, the Apple series “tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo push the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show.”

“Only Murders in the Building” showrunner John Hoffman will serve as executive producer, showrunner, and director, with “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” director Matt Shakman attached to direct the first episode. Law and Garfield are also set to produce.

Law will next be seen alongside Jason Bateman in the Netflix limited series “Black Rabbit” and will play Vladimir Putin in Olivier Assayas’ upcoming drama “The Wizard of the Kremlin.” Garfield will next be seen in Luca Guadagnino’s campus drama “After the Hunt,” in which he co-stars with Julia Roberts.
