Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. ‘still look so hot’ in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ sequel

  • Chase Sui Wonders said OG stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are “back in action” for the slasher sequel.
  • Wonders said the pair “still look so hot” in the new movie, which filmed in Australia.
  • Brandy Norwood previously expressed interest in returning for the reboot.

The original stars of the 1997 slasher classic I Know What You Did Last Summer are ready to put on both a horror and smoke show in the upcoming sequel, according to one of the franchise’s new stars.

After it was revealed that OG actors Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. would reprise their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson in director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s new reboot, supporting actress Chase Sui Wonders revealed in a Friday morning interview on The View that both returning performers will satisfy fan expectations in more ways than one.

“You’re going to be starring in the highly anticipated reboot of the classic slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer,” cohost Sara Haines said, before asking Wonders — who appeared on the program to promote her new Seth Rogen-starring Apple TV+ series The Studio — to tease details of the new movie.

“Yes! The hook! The hook is back!” Wonders said, excitedly pointing to a bloody hook that appeared on the movie’s poster on a screen behind her.

She continued, praising Hewitt and Prinze Jr. for coming back to the franchise.

“I can say that Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are back in action, and they are still so hot,” Wonders quipped. “So good-looking. My God!”

Wonders also reflected on shooting the new movie in less than ideal conditions in Australia due to the country’s abundance of dangerous wildlife.

“Everyone’s very cavalier about the fact that the whole country is a zoo,” Wonders joked of the country’s “fatal and deadly” menagerie of animals.

“We went to go swim in the ocean and no one was there, and it was a beautiful sunny day. We asked somebody and they were like, ‘Oh, it’s just a gummy shark in the water, mate,'” Wonders recalled. “They’re way too casual about it.”

The sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer reunites Hewitt and Prinze Jr. in the series for the first time since 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, which also starred recording artist Brandy Norwood — who also previously expressed interest in reprising her role as Karla Wilson in the continuation.

Additionally, Prinze Jr. met his future wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, while filming the original I Know What You Did Last Summer, with Gellar portraying an ill-fated beauty queen in the first installment. The couple eventually married in 2002, five years after meeting on the set.

I Know What You Did Last Summer releases July 18.
