Jamie Lee Curtis warns ‘stay out of the way and let firefighters’ work in L.A. fires

Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis is using her platform to urge Los Angeles citizens to ease emergency response efforts as the city grapples with wildfires spreading through the area.

The 66-year-old Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Last Showgirl star shared an impassioned Instagram post Wednesday morning, imploring her followers to heed warnings from local officials as blazes rage through southern California — particularly the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

“My community and possibly my home is on fire. My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well. There are so many conflicting reports. With all the technology there seems to be very little information. PLEASE POST FACTS! IT WILL HELP THOSE WONDERING!” Curtis wrote alongside a photo of a home engulfed in flames.

She called the developments “a terrifying situation” and praised and “the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze.”

Curtis called the fires, “Life on life’s terms,” adding, “If ever there was need for the use of the phrase MY HAND IN YOURS, it is right now. Take care of each other. Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it and even if you don’t, pray for those who do.”

Other stars have also posted about the fires, including The Hills alum Spencer Pratt, who documented a blaze in his area on TikTok.

“Nightmare came true,” Pratt wrote in the video’s caption, with the clip showing a massive tower of flames spreading through a California hillside.

According to the Associated Press, approximately 30,000 residents have been told to evacuate areas impacted by the flames, with high winds and dry conditions in the region amplifying the spread.
