‘Hangry Petz’ Animated Series Coming From Toonz, Jay@Play Partnership (EXCLUSIVE)

Toonz Media Group has partnered with toy manufacturer Jay@Play to develop “Hangry Petz,” a new CGI-animated series created exclusively for digital platforms.

The project will consist of 26 three-minute episodes featuring characters inspired by Jay@Play’s successful stuffed toy line, which has already generated buzz through social media campaigns.

The show’s storyline centers on Bella, a house cat who orchestrates food heists from the Hangry Petz Hangout, alongside Charlie Bulldog, a tech-savvy accomplice. Rounding out the main cast is Rogue, the Hangry Petz Pizza Monster, an unpredictable character with near-invisibility powers whose massive size and glowing eyes add chaotic energy to their adventures.

P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, described “Hangry Petz” as “a fresh, dynamic concept that blends humor, adventure, and expressive animation to create a visually engaging and highly entertaining experience. It stands out by bringing characters to life through vivid, captivating expressions that instantly draw you in and keep you engaged. It’s this depth of emotion and personality that will make the series truly unforgettable.”

Jay@Play has been creating popular toy products since 2004, with the “Hangry Petz” concept derived from the formula: “Hungry + Angry = Hangry x Animals = Hangry Petz.”

A Jay@Play spokesperson said: “Toonz Media has brought the ‘Hangry Petz’ with their unique eyes, fun shape, and snarky attitude to life in such a funny and magical way that will be irresistible to hangry people of all ages across the globe. We couldn’t be happier with our partnership with Toonz Media.”

With over two decades in animation production, Toonz produces more than 10,000 minutes of 2D and CGI content annually and has collaborated with Marvel, Lionsgate, and Universal on previous projects.
