French ex-PM Fillon handed 4-year suspended prison sentence over wife's fake job




Former French premier François Fillon was given on Tuesday a four-year suspended prison sentence for corruption over the “fake jobs” scandal that was fatal to his presidential bid in 2017. The ex-PM was found guilty in 2022 for giving a fraudulent parliamentary assistant job to his wife for which she was paid millions of euros in public funds.
