Nicole Kidman — and a new group of strangers — are heading to another wellness resort to find healing.
The second season of Nine Perfect Strangers has set its premiere date on Hulu, and some first-look images unveil the season’s backdrop: Zauberwald in the Austrian Alps.
The official logline reads: “Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko (Kidman) to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself.”
This season, some new additions to the show include Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong and Aras Aydin.
Nine Perfect Strangers is based on the same book by Liane Moriarty. Its first season in 2021 starred Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon and Samara Weaving, among others.
In 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that producers were eyeing a second season after it was submitted for the Emmys in the ongoing drama category instead of an anthology or limited series.
David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Molly Allen, Jonathan Levine, Rachel Shukert, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Tinker, Anthony Byrne and JH Butterworth serve as executive producers.
Season two premieres May 21 on Hulu and kicks off with two episodes. It’s followed by new episodes dropping weekly.
