EFL Awards: Daniel Farke, Scott Parker, Chris Wilder and Regis Le Bris nominees

Leeds boss Daniel Farke, Burnley head coach Scott Parker, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder and Sunderland counterpart Regis Le Bris make up a four-man shortlist for the Championship manager of the season.

The top four managers in the Championship table will vie for an award won last season by Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna.

This season’s top boss will be announced at the English Football League’s annual awards ceremony in London on Sunday, 27 April.

In the Championship player of the season category, the main promotion candidates are similarly well represented with Clarets goalkeeper James Trafford, Leeds forward Daniel James and Blades midfielder Gustavo Hamer the nominees.

It is no surprise the main promotion candidates dominate the nominations in both categories.

Farke has managed to keep Leeds focused on the main prize of promotion while playing entertaining and free-flowing football, and Burnley’s Parker has engineered a remarkable defensive record of 28 clean sheets with his side one away from the all-time record.

Sheffield United boss Wilder has kept his side in touch with the automatic promotion places all season despite carrying a two-point penalty, while Sunderland’s Le Bris has guided the Black Cats into fourth place and the play-offs from a 16th-place finish last season.
