Eagles player C.J. Gardner-Johnson trolls Taylor Swift fans with crude hoodie during Super Bowl parade

Taylor Swift fans knew that Philadelphia Eagles player C.J. Gardner-Johnson was trouble when he walked into the team’s official victory parade, because he was wearing a hoodie that read, “Swifties can LIX my balls.” The crude reference was, of course, to the official title of the game the Eagles just won over the Kansas City Chiefs, the home team of Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

It wasn’t his first move against Swift either. Earlier this week, he made a post on Instagram Stories, which PEOPLE described as “mocking Travis, insinuating he should have stayed with his ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole rather than date Swift to win the Super Bowl.”

The Midnights artist has been dating Kelce, whose team lost the big game to the Eagles 22-40 on Sunday, since 2023. Since then, her appearances at NFL games has been conspicuous and often noted by NFL commentators.

At the game in question, where Kelce and the Chiefs were going for the team’s third Super Bowl victory in a row — something that’s never been accomplished before — the singer/songwriter was actually booed when she appeared on the big screen at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Cameras captured the moment in which she realized what was happening, even though she had questions, or at least one big one.

While sitting alongside rapper Ice Spice and friend Ashley Avignone, she mouthed, “What is going on?” and widened her eyes. After all, she’s accustomed to getting screams at large venues. Fortunately, she appeared to laugh it off.

As the singer told Time in December 2023, when, ya know, she was named Person of the Year — no big deal — she’s not there to win anyone over. “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

Still, the moment received extra attention after President Donald Trump highlighted it on his Truth Social platform. His posts showed the crowd cheering for him and booing for Swift.

The View cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin, for one, noted on the show this week that she believed the boos were simply because “half of the crowd are Eagles fans, and she’s dating one of the star players” of the opposing team.

She also noted that, despite the boos, Swift continues to sell out stadiums.
