Bill Skarsgard, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe have jumped on board The Death of Robin Hood, which already has Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer as leads.
The visceral thriller is about Robin Hood grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance of salvation. Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, production on the thriller got underway in Ireland this week.
Skarsgard recently starred as Count Orlok in Nosferatu, and is known for earlier portrayals of Pennywise the Clown in It and It Chapter Two, based on Stephen King’s iconic horror novel. Bartlett played Armond in HBO’s The White Lotus, and has other credits such as The Last of Us and Welcome to Chippendales.
Jupe is known for roles in The Night Manager, George Clooney’s dark comedy Suburbicon, Wonder, the horror film A Quiet Place and its sequel A Quiet Place Part II. Lyrical Media is financing the film, with Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett producing under their Ryder Picture Company banner, alongside Alexander Black for Lyrical Media.
Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers will executive produce with Rama Gottumukkala, Sarnoski and Jackman. A24 earlier picked up the U.S. releasing rights in Cannes, while True Brit Entertainment will be releasing the film in the UK and Ireland.
WME Independent reps the foreign rights to the film. Skarsgard is represented by WME, Agentfirman and Magnolia Entertainment. Bartlett is represented by WME and Anonymous Content. Jupe is represented by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
