Bennifer no more! Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially single, weeks after settling divorce

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially back on the market, six weeks after they finalized their divorce.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court declared the couple’s marriage dissolved and the two legally single as of Feb. 21, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The couple had ironed out many of the substantial issues in January, including that neither are paying the other spousal support.

The couple known as Bennifer originally got together in 2002, after meeting on the set of their movie Gigli, which notoriously flopped at the box office. They were engaged by November of that year. However, the wedding was postponed and then, in January 2004, they split.

However, after marrying and divorcing others, the pair coupled up again in 2021, renewing their fans’ faith in love. They married in July 2022, but ended their relationship again just two years later. Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024 and asked that Affleck be dropped from her name.

The two don’t share any children, although they each have kids of their own, including two teenagers, twins Emme and Max, for her from Lopez’s marriage to Marc Anthony, and three for him. Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner share Violet, 19; Seraphina, 16; and Samuel, 12.

Lopez revealed in October how she felt amid the high-profile breakup, especially after Affleck had influenced her album, This Is Me … Now, which didn’t do as well as she’d hoped, and its accompanying film, just months before it.

“I did all the work and look at where I am, and then it was like my whole f—ing world exploded,” she told Interview Magazine.

She was candid about wanting to be content without anyone else.

“And yeah, there’s times when I thought I figured it out, and then life goes, ‘Let’s send you another thing and see if you fall for it. Let’s see if you really have learned that lesson,'” Lopez said. “And I hadn’t. I understand that now in a much deeper way, which doesn’t mean that I won’t make mistakes in the future, but again, when your whole house blows up, you’re standing there in the rubble going, ‘How do I not ever let that happen again?’ And then you start examining it little by little saying, ‘Okay, I did this, this was my part in it, this was what I should have seen early on, this is what I didn’t look at.’ Those things are what really are the lessons.”
