‘Beast Games’ Studio Blink49 Gets Strategic Investment From Bell Media

Fifth Season-backed Blink49 Studios has received a strategic investment from Bell Media, the Canadian media giant.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the aim is bolstering Blink49’s scripted and unscripted content slate. The investment deal is set to close in fall 2025.

John Morayniss, Patrice Theroux, Jeff Lynas and Nelson Kuo-Lee — all veteran executives from Entertainment One — launched Blink49 Studios as a Canadian-based indie banner in fall 2021 to develop and produce both scripted and unscripted content.

Fifth Season (formerly Endeavor Content) became the lead strategic investor in Blink49, which is headquartered in Toronto and has offices in Los Angeles, and is also the production banner’s main distribution partner. Bell Media and Blink49 have already partnered with a first look global scripted and second-look unscripted deal with Lilly Singh’s Unicorn Island Productions.

That agreement has produced the Made in Canada game show hosted by Singh. “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Blink49 in just a few short years, and this strategic investment from Bell Media marks an exciting new chapter in our growth,” Morayniss said in a statement on Monday while attending the Banff World Media Festival.

Other Bell media and Blink49 collaborations include the scripted series Don’t Even, Late Bloomer and Sight Unseen, and the upcoming reality series Blue Collar and the Yaga scripted series. Blink49 also produces the Wild Cards drama and the Beast Games reality series.
