Ashley Tisdale’s Being Frenshe Hair Care Line Made Me Ditch the Go-To Products I’ve Been Using for Years

My journey with my hair has been an interesting one, to say the least. Over the years, I’ve box dyed, highlighted, chopped, and done just about everything under the sun to my hair. In this time, I’ve also tried my fair share of hair products, including drugstore shampoos, various conditioners (including leave-in conditioners), dry shampoos, serums, scrubs, and more.

As much as I’ve experimented, I’ve never been able to find products that actually make my hair feel healthy and look good. So when Being Frenshe, Ashley Tisdale’s wellness brand, sent me samples from its new hair care collection, I leaped at the opportunity to try new products that could potentially save my lifeless, dull, and fine hair. Needless to say, I’m already labeling Being Frenshe as my favorite brand of 2025 because of how it has completely revamped my hair and revolutionized my approach to hair care.  I became such a fast fan, I already ditched the go-to products I’ve used for years.

Outside of gathering feedback from Being Frenshe customers, Tisdale tells Real Simple that she drew inspiration from her own hair and scalp journey to create the collection. “Over the years, I’ve done so much to [my hair], from extensions to color—it’s been a lot. And I also have experienced hair loss, which made me stop taking my hair for granted,” she shares. “I started to simplify my routine and make scalp care a priority, and then my hair began to look and feel a lot better.”

With just a few products, my hair not only feels healthy, but it also looks shiny, smooth, and full of life. The best part? Being Frenshe is available to shop at Target, and all of its hair products are less than $15 a piece. For a complete review of my favorite products from the collection, keep reading!

Lavender Cloud Restore Shampoo

I was most drawn to Being Frenshe’s Restore line of products, as each product is supposed to replenish dry hair and restore damaged strands. As someone with thin, frizzy hair that teeters on the oily side, I thought this would be a great option for me to give life back to my hair without weighing it down. So, I started with the Restore Shampoo, and I was absolutely shocked by how nice my hair felt just after lathering it up and rinsing it out in the shower. Normally, after rinsing out shampoo, my hair has a squeaky clean but dry and crunchy feeling to it, but with the Restore Shampoo, it felt incredibly smooth and soft.

I can thank the shampoo’s hair-friendly formula for the immediate softness of my hair. It contains ceramide and hemi-squalane, known for their ability to repair damaged hair, reduce hair breakage, strengthen hair strands, and tame frizzness. Not to mention, it smells amazing. It’s made with essential oils and notes of lavender, sage, coconut milk, and purple iris, which instantly relaxed me and made me feel at ease.

Lavender Cloud Restore Conditioner

Being Frenshe recommends pairing the Restore Shampoo with the Restore Conditioner, and that’s exactly what I did. After rinsing my hair completely, I applied a quarter-size amount of conditioner to my hand and thoroughly massaged it through my hair, from the base of my head to the ends of my hair. The formula is lightweight, which immediately made me happy to use it, as most of the conditioners I’ve used in the past were heavy and made my hair feel weighed down and greasy. Like the shampoo, the conditioner is crafted with ceramide and hemi-squalane that results in a silky smooth texture that makes my hair feel wonderfully healthy and nourished.

Lavender Cloud Reset & Renew Hair Mask

Target

I’m not usually one to to have an extensive hair care routine. I typically use shampoo and conditioner in the shower, and that’s about it. But upon receiving the Reset & Renew Hair Mask, I figured that there was no better time to try something new and outside of my comfort zone than now. The mask, which comes in a generous 10-ounce size, is formulated with squalane, ceramides, and shea butter that feels feathery light on your hair as you use it.

After shampooing, I let the mask sit on my hair for 15 minutes while I exfoliated and shaved my legs, and I could not believe how silky my hair felt once I rinsed it out. But that’s not all. After towel-drying my hair and blow-drying it with my usual round brush, my hair looked like I got a salon treatment, so much so that my sister-in-law immediately noticed and said, “Your hair looks so smooth and is laying so nicely!” The proof is in the paper, or in-law compliments, folks.

The mask also happens to be one of Tisdale’s favorite products from the collection, too. “If I really want to relax, I light a Lavender Cloud candle, drop a Milky Bath Bomb in the tub, and put on the Reset & Renew hair mask. Total bliss,” she shares.

Cashmere Vanilla Ritual Refresh Dry Shampoo

Target

As mentioned earlier, I struggle with oily hair most days. I’m lucky if my hair doesn’t look greasy or oily a day after I shower, and as a result, dry shampoo is always in immediate reach. The Ritual Refresh Dry Shampoo also has my seal of approval, as it absorbs excess oil from my scalp and roots, without making my hair feel weirdly chalky, dusty, or grainy. The formula contains rice starch and hyaluronic acid for a gentle, yet effective result. To use it, I shook the bottle well, held it around 10 inches from my roots, and sprayed it a few times until I saw the product in my hair. I massaged it in my scalp and roots, and brushed my hair out to blend it in. My hair  looked freshly cleaned and blow dried for hours after using it, and it has now become a part of my routine when my hair needs a little pick me up. Plus, the dry shampoo is available in Being Frenshe’s Cashmere Vanilla scent, my favorite from the brand, which has a cozy, warm, and comforting smell with notes of vanilla, jasmine rice, and sandalwood.
