It might only be spring, but more opportunities to fly south for the winter are on the way.
American Airlines will launch new international routes to Mexico and Dominican Republic, expanding their more than 270 international routes.
On November 8th, service will begin from Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City to Cancun International Airport (CUN). On December 6, American Airlines will launch four new routes to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) from Indianapolis International Airport (IND), Nashville International Airport (BNA), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
“Together with new routes, more flights on popular routes and extended seasons to major destinations, American’s schedule is designed for travelers to get away to sun, sand and more next winter,” Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, said in a statement shared with T+L.
Punta Cana and Cancun are both known for their excellent beaches and all-inclusive resorts, including Grand Palladium Palace Resort, Spa & Casino in Punta Cana and AVA Resort Cancun in Mexico. Cancun also offers easy access to historical Mayan sites like Chichén Itzá
American will also expand their service from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) in Buenos Aires, Argentina and from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to São Paulo/Guarulhos–Governor André Franco Montoro International Airport (GRU) for the holiday season.
