New article on small business responses to compound disasters

The Consortium for Climate Risk in the Urban Northeast (CCRUN), a NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnerships (CAP) team, published a new article titled, “Business as Usual?: Small Business Responses to Compound Disasters in Coastal New York City and New Jersey.” Small businesses, defined as having less than 500 employees, are critical in community disaster recovery. They provide essential goods and services and employment, and act as gathering locations during disasters. Food-related small businesses especially provide vital goods and services before and after extreme events but are also highly vulnerable to disruption of business practices.
