Lady Gaga will appear in Season 2 of Netflix‘s “Addams Family” spinoff “Wednesday,” and series star Jenna Ortega could not be happier.
“It’s the best. She’s the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with,” Ortega told IndieWire at SXSW. “It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much.”
“Then just finding out that she’s such a sweetheart and really kind and reserved, it’s very strange,” Ortega added. “I love that you never know what to expect from her, but you can always expect kindness and generosity.”
Gaga’s role in the series is currently unknown.
“I don’t want to give away anything about being part of the show,” Gaga told Entertainment Weekly recently. “I want to keep it extra secret — but, I love Jenna, and I really had an amazing time!”
Gaga’s ties to “Wednesday” go back to the first season when a scene featuring Ortega dancing to “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps was reworked with Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” and went viral on TikTok. Users posted themselves doing the same dance to Gaga’s 2011 song, and Gaga also jumped on the trend at one point.
“You know what’s funny? A long time ago, I worked with a hairdresser that worked with Gaga and I just had seen Gaga in concert a few years before. [The hairdresser got] Gaga [to make] me a video saying she heard I was a fan,” Ortega said in 2023 about Gaga joining the TikTok trend. “Gaga made me a sweet video. I doubt she remembers. But to see her do that now…it’s one of those moments you realize life changes really fast.”
“Wednesday” follows teenager Wednesday Addams’s trials and tribulations at Nevermore Academy.
