Right on the heels of the Oscars come events for television shows already campaigning for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.
While the winter awards season yielded plenty of eligible shows already in the mix, like “The Bear,” “The Penguin,” and “Hacks,” each program must submit their application for Emmys consideration by Thursday, May 8, 2025.
That’s just one of the many dates to keep in mind throughout spring and summer 2025, with the eligibility period for any 2025 Emmys contender being for shows that aired between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025. The Television Academy also made some rule changes as well, from directors submitting for their work on multiple shows to guest stars only being eligible if they have not had an elevated role, like the lead, on the show.
Once the 2024-2025 television season ends on May 31, shows will have about two more weeks to campaign, with nominations-round voting beginning on June 12 and ending on June 23. Emmy nominations are then announced on July 15, with space for a final month of campaigning. Final Emmys voting starts on August 18 and ends August 27.
Finally, the 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards and the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are set for September, with actual dates to be determined. The Primetime Emmys will air live on CBS this year.
