Sterling K. Brown shares his reaction to learning his wife had a sex scene with her celebrity crush

Sterling K. Brown wasn’t thrilled when his wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe, shared a sex scene with Boris Kodjoe in a 2007 movie they did together. The reason was a conversation they had early on.

“When we first got married, I asked her, I said, ‘Who is your celebrity crush?’ Who is it?’ She goes, ‘Boris,’ like, she didn’t pause. Boris [Kodjoe],” Brown told Sherri Shepherd on Wednesday’s episode of Sherri. “Sherri, within two months, she was playing Boris’ wife in a movie, called All About Us, right?”

He tells the story at about 1:40 in the video below.

The This Is Us alum was in Canada filming TV series Supernatural at the time, so he called her to see how the shoot was going.

“She said, ‘Listen.’ They had a sex scene that they added into the [script],” Brown recalled.

Then, he censored himself: “I’ve been told that I can’t use the t-word on daytime television, so I’m gonna say, ‘Oh, so you gotta have naked breasts on his chest? And she’s like, ‘No, I’m gonna use the Band-Aids.'”

He called her again, and she said the filming had gone “really well,” but the trick she had planned to use to keep her breasts covered had failed.

“He was so respectful, so cool,” Brown said his wife told him of her scene partner. “But it was really humid in the room, and I had a tough time keeping the Band-Aids on.”

The Paradise star was not pleased.

“You just wanted naked breasts on Boris’ chest!,” Brown told her. “So, because of that, any other scene that Brown does, I’m like, ‘I’m going for it. Man, I’m going for it!”

Shepherd asked if Kodjoe and his wife, Nicole Ari Parker, knew about the crush. He said they “absolutely do.”

In fact, Brown said he and Bathe ran into them at the Oscar night party thrown by Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

“And Nicole and I are looking for project to do together,” Brown teased. “So we about to flip it!”

Brown and Bathe married in 2006, and they share two children.
