7 Things You Can Organize With a Tiered Spice Rack—Besides Spices

When I first moved into my apartment a few years ago, I bought a clear tiered stand. It looked a little bit like organizational bleachers. Even though I wasn’t 100% sure what I’d use it for, I instantly knew that I needed to have it. I started using it to organize spices (as I believe it was originally intended to), but fast forward five years and I’ve found many, many uses for it beyond that. It just makes everything easier to see and grab and makes a collection look display-worthy. I’ve used it for makeup, barware, cooking oils, you name it! Here are seven of my favorite ways to use a tiered spice rack.

Nail Polish

Impressive nail polish collections deserve to be displayed with pride! This is where a tiered stand comes in handy. Load up each layer so that you can easily see your options at a glance and organize them by color if you’re feeling ambitious.

Sprinkles

Bakers, this one’s for you! While many pantry items aren’t pretty enough to be displayed, sprinkles are meant to be shown off. If you have an impressive number of bottles, use a tiered stand to stack them up and show them off.

Glassware

That collection of cool rocks glasses isn’t going to display itself! OK, it could, but placing your prized pieces on a tiered stand allows you to show off all of them without any of your favorites getting buried in the back.

Canned Goods

Have you ever ended up with seven cans of garbanzo beans because you kept going to the store thinking you didn’t have them? This problem tends to happen when you can’t see everything in your cooking arsenal (the downside of deep shelves). These tiered stands can also fit canned goods, so you can keep your beans, soups, and veggies clustered together and viewable.

Coffee Supplies

As coffee prices go up, more and more people are turning a piece of their kitchen into their morning coffee station so that they can brew their own cup at home. The only problem is where to stash the many accessories that go with your coffee or tea like sugar, grounds, simple syrup, and flavorings. Use a tiered organizer to stash all of these supplies, plus mugs, in a way that won’t take up your whole counter.

Skin Care

Everyone has had one (or many, many) of those tired mornings where, two seconds after applying your skin care, you can’t remember if you’ve already put on your moisturizer or primer or serum of choice. There’a a lot of stuff that goes into a good skin care routine, but displaying your products on a tiered spice rack can help you keep track of what you have.

Art Supplies

Crayons and markers come in a box, but if we’re being honest, they usually end up mismatched or broken in plastic cups. Those cups aren’t super aesthetically pleasing, but if you load up on a tiered stand with them and an assortment of other colorful craft supplies, they suddenly look more organized. Beyond those aforementioned coloring items, you can also use a tiered stand to stash paint, glitter, washi tape, you name it.
