Amazon Has a Customizable Cabin Kit With Stunning, Floor-to-ceiling Windows — and Only $16K

Amazon isn’t just a one-stop destination for travel accessories and camping gear; the online retailer has also expanded into do-it-yourself cabin kits that are easy to build and offer overnight guests more privacy than a spare bedroom. 

The site’s outdoor storage and housing store offers an array of ready-to-build cabins, including this resort-inspired unit from Allwood Outlet that offers stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and costs less than $20,000. Once fully built, the layout is completely open, allowing you to turn the space into whatever you want (unlike many tiny houses that come with a pre-determined layout).

Bonaire Resort-style Cabin Kit

Robin Pekkala, an Allwood Outlet brand representative, told Travel + Leisure to think of the structures as additional space outside of your home that can be transformed into a guest cottage, pool house, art studio, yoga room, home office space, or even a music studio. 

The Bonaire cabin kit caught our eye for its modern, rectangular shape that takes inspiration from vacation resort cabins. It features clean-cut lines and floor-to-ceiling windows that create a sun-drenched space in the 225-square-foot interior (that’s larger than some NYC studio apartments). 

The spruce wood kit arrives unpainted, giving you the choice to keep it natural or add a pop of color. It also includes the essentials: wall boards, floor boards, joists, roof rafters, boards for the structure, windows, doors, screws and nails, handles for the windows, and locks for the doors. 

From there, you’ll be able to use the space however you want and make any adjustments to fit your needs, like adding insulation and plumbing, installing waterproofing on the roof, and putting up more walls to craft separate rooms. Instead of getting a pre-determined layout, the power is in your hands to use the space how you see fit. 

One cabin owner transformed their Bonaire Cabin Kit into an Airbnb, which the brand posted on Instagram. They fit a bed, two chairs, and a coffee table in one area of the space, and they added a kitchenette and a separate bathroom.
