Swedish police are responding to an armed attack at a school in the city of Örebro, some 200 km west of Stockholm, with at least five people affected.

Swedish media are reporting that the attack took place at Risbergska School, an education campus serving a wide range of students.
The school’s website says it mostly deals with adult education and works with people over the age of 20, offering various levels of training and language courses for immigrants to Sweden.
Aftonbladet daily is reporting, quoting local authorities, that an air ambulance is on its way to the scene.
Separately, Dagens Nyheter daily is reporting a conversation with a manager of a pizza restaurant near the campus, who said 30 to 50 people fled to shooting to shelter there – shocked, but unharmed.
Responding to some early reporting in Swedish media, police authorities say no police officers were injured by gunfire during the operation.

Four people in hospitals, local authorities say
Local authorities of the Örebro Country say in a statement that four people have been admitted to hospitals in the area after the attack.
Their age or extent of their injuries are not currently known.

Swedish police will host a press conference about the attack at 15:30 local time (14:30 GMT).
The Left party leader Nooshi Dadgostar tweeted saying that her thoughts are with those affected, and stressing that the country needs to “find our way out” of violence.

Local hospitals stepping up their response
Swedish media are reporting that the local hospital is stepping up its emergency operations in anticipation of having to deal with people affected by the attack.
Police warn ‘danger not over’ and urge people to stay away
The latest police update stresses that the danger is “not over,” and tells people to stay away from the area of Vasthaga in the city of Örebro.
‘Very serious situation,’ Swedish justice minister tells media
Swedish justice minister Gunnar Strömmer told SVT Örebro that the situation was “very serious,” and the response to the incident was still under way.
The Swedish government remains in close contact with the authorities, he said.
