Brazil’s anti-racism education initiatives are picking up pace




While more than half of Brazil’s population is Black, the history of the country’s Afro-descendants is often taught only in relation to slavery – leaving more than a century of history, culture and art invisible. A 2003 law requiring schools to teach the history of Brazil’s Black population has rarely been implemented, but others are stepping in.
