“Momma Song” by Benson Boone hits No. 2 on iTunes, while “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” … More
In less than a month, Benson Boone will release his hugely-anticipated sophomore album, American Heart. The full-length is expected to drop on June 20, and the pop singer is doling out tunes from the 10-song set at a rapid pace.
He currently has a pair of singles on the Billboard charts from the forthcoming effort, and as of this Friday (May 23), he has now shared a third cut — one which may be on its way to becoming another top seller for the superstar.
Benson Boone’s New Single
Boone dropped the third official single from American Heart, “Momma Song,” at the beginning of the new tracking week. For a period of time, it ruled the iTunes Top Songs chart in the United States, standing out as the top-selling track in the country on what is usually considered the most important platform for song purchases. As of the time of writing, however, it has been pushed to the runner-up spot.
Benson Boone Vs. Backstreet Boys
“Momma Song” steps aside to allow “The Perfect Fan (Demo)” by the Backstreet Boys to lead the iTunes Top Songs ranking in America. That tune came with little warning and shot right to the summit once fans woke up and realized it was available.
With it, the group’s album Millennium also soars on the iTunes Top Albums list. It currently appears at No. 2, despite the fact that it was originally released decades ago.
Benson Boone’s Catalog Soars
The arrival of “Momma Song” is having a positive impact on the previous two American Heart singles on iTunes. The first track from the full-length, “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” climbs by double-digit spaces and currently appears at No. 61. “Mystical Magical,” the latest tune shared – until today – is still present inside the top 40, and at the moment lifts to No. 33.
“Beautiful Things” Stands Out
Of course, when it comes to Boone’s catalog, one tune stands out above the rest. “Beautiful Things,” which helped introduce him to the public more than a year ago, is still a strong seller. The tune returns to the top 20 on the iTunes Top Songs tally, pushing to No. 18.
