US President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to impose 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, and 10% on Chinese imports, citing the drug trade and immigration. Posting on Truth Social, he pledged to sign executive orders implementing these measures immediately after taking office on January 20.
