Once again, it’s time to roll out the red carpet for the 2025 Met Gala.

Held each year in NYC on the first Monday in May, fashion’s biggest night — which serves as a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art — always brings out the biggest stars and style icons.

For the first time since 2003, the dress code for the event, “Tailored for You,” focuses exclusively on suiting and menswear. The theme is in conjunction with the Costume Institute’s new exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which was inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

Those in attendance — including Met Gala co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams will be expected to deliver looks that honor Black dandyism. However, honorary chair LeBron James will not be hitting the red carpet as expected.

“Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on! Hate to miss an historical event!” he shared on X ahead of the event.
