Clogs have been trending since last summer, and they’re not going anywhere this year, either. As a personal fan of Rothy’s and owner of various flats and sandals from the brand, I wasn’t surprised by the recent surge in popularity of its Casual Clog, which has already sold out seven times. However, I was incredibly excited to find out that Rothy’s just dropped three new colors of the best-selling style, all in a new hemp fabric made from recycled plastic bottles that’s ideal for summer.
The original design comes in seven colors and is made from Merino wool, making them the ultimate slip-on-and-go shoe for fall and early winter, but the new lightweight hemp material is much more breathable for the warm weather. Plus, The Casual Clog is machine-washable. What’s not to love about the easygoing style? I’m drawn to the flexible and simple slip-on design; as well as the wide toe box, which eliminates friction that’s synonymous with painful blisters; the signature high insole; and the contoured, cushy footbed for premium comfort while you walk around all day. It’s also hard to resist the super-chic, ribbed, tortoiseshell outsole that makes the clogs look like a much more expensive designer shoe.

Although the $159 price tag can be considered an investment in your wardrobe, you can’t go wrong with an easy-to-care-for and cozy shoe that you can enjoy year-round and throw in the washing machine when it needs a little TLC. I for sure can see myself rocking either the new black or neutral Dune shade, seeing as they’re pretty much guaranteed to go with almost everything in my closet. Whether I’m wearing a matching knit set, jean shorts, wide-leg trousers, or a flowy and breezy dress, I’m already plotting out my summer outfits with no issue. It’s truly no wonder the original clog sold out various times.
