- Famous friends Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen took their families on a joint vacation to Florida’s theme parks.
- Between them, the two TV stars have four kids ages 6 and younger, who they made unforgettable memories with on the trip.
- Cohen says he’s ready to return to the theme park scene as soon as May, when the newest Universal park opens.
Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen have taken their longtime friendship on the road in what Cohen called an “epic spring break” to Florida, visiting both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort.
The Bravo host shared their “ultimate family vacation” in an Instagram post over the weekend, a joint family vacation his kids Wyatt and Sebastian, and Cooper’s children Benjamin and Lucy.
The first glimpse of their getaway was just of the two television personalities, as Cohen posted their Disney PhotoPass Service ride photo from the thrilling TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, which the park describes as a dark thrill ride with big drops. The attraction based on “TRON: Legacy” had a minimum height of 48 inches, and it appears as if the young ones weren’t able to come along for the ride.
Of course there were plenty of highlights for their kids, including a notable moment when Lucy fell into a sweet embrace with Daisy Duck during a character meet and greet. While the park offers character experiences with the character at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Magic Kingdom and Donald’s Dino-Bash at Animal Kingdom, based on Daisy’s wardrobe, the quacky visit seemed to have happened outside of those opportunities.
This was a particularly meaningful moment for Lucy, who turns three next week. As Cohen explained on TODAY with Jenna & Friends on April 22, “Lucy’s just not into Daisy,” explaining that “she was thinking that Daisy was bossy, and I was trying to explain to her, there’s a difference if a girl knows what she wants … I don’t like the trope of her saying she’s bossy.” He said the toddler picked up the impression from watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
He shared a clip of their heartfelt hug on Instagram with the caption, “They squashed the beef!!!!! And if Lucy & Daisy Duck can figure things out, I think we can spread this vibe to the Bravoverse… “
When Jenna Bush asked Cohen on the morning show how he held up during the action-packed family vacation, he revealed that he hit a breaking point on day four of their adventure while at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Sunset Boulevard.
“I was sitting there, eating my, like, eighth Mickey ice cream pop—and I was disgusting,” he admitted. “I smelled like humanity. And the children, which I had formerly found adorable, were screaming, and I was like, who am I? Get me out of here.”
But he knew not to push it, and “called it,” returning to the hotel and relaxing at the pool instead.
Cohen and Cooper have shared their adventures together over the years, from a mundane subway ride on the A train in New York City last year to a group trip to Tahiti back in 2017 before they became fathers.
The Bravo star described the CNN anchor as “my other child” and “Grump-lestiltskin” on TODAY but ultimately admired his attitude, which he took on the amusement park rides as well. “He is fearless, as you can see by his reporting,” Cohen said of Cooper. “He’ll jump on anything! He’s ready to go!”
Despite being worn out, Cohen is ready to go back to the Florida theme parks—and soon! “Universal is about to open an incredible theme park,” Cohen told Bush, revealing that he will be visiting Universal Epic Universe, the new park that opens May 22. The talk show host hinted that she may be visiting soon as well, since both NBC and Bravo are part of NBCUniversal, which owns Universal Orlando Resort.
