This Hyatt All-inclusive in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Just Got a Massive $20-million Upgrade

  • Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta just completed a massive $20 million renovation.
  • The rooms in the resort’s North Tower have all been refreshed, and a teppanyaki-style restaurant has also been added; another dining venue serving Italian cuisine is in the works.
  • Other upgrades include a reimagined kids club, lobby, pickleball court, and oceanfront terrace.

Eleven years after its opening, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, located on Las Estacas Beach, has completed a massive $20 million renovation, with refreshed rooms, additional amenities, and new restaurants.

“Delivering exceptional hospitality requires ongoing innovation, and we are excited to unveil these revitalized spaces at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta,” said Fernando Mulet, executive vice president and chief investment officer of Playa Hotels & Resorts, in a statement obtained by Travel + Leisure. “These updates not only enhance the guest experience but also reinforce our commitment to setting new standards in all-inclusive luxury through elevated accommodations and innovative experiences.

All 244 guest rooms in the resort’s North Tower got a facelift, featuring new interior design elements such as custom woodwork, upgraded ocean-view balconies, and sliding glass doors. Additionally, new air-conditioning units, smart TVs, and Nespresso machines have been added. The Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta has 335 rooms, divided into 18 different categories ranging from a simple double room to a 1,500-square-foot presidential penthouse suite. While Ziva is Hyatt’s family-friendly resort brand, it also has adults-only guest rooms, all of which provide swim-up pool access.

One of the best things about staying at an all-inclusive resort is the complimentary dining. With 12—soon to be 13—restaurants, the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is no exception. Guests can enjoy traditional Mexican fare at Casa Grande, sample Vietnamese and Thai-inspired dishes at Pureza, and indulge in Latin American-style grilled seafood at the oceanside Blaze. As part of the renovation, the hotel also introduced a new culinary offering: the Asian fusion restaurant Tamari, which specializes in teppanyaki-style cooking. A new Italian restaurant with oceanfront views, Melanzanne, is set to debut later this year as well.

Parents and kiddos alike will rejoice in the property’s newly spruced-up kids’ club (intended for children aged four to 12), which now has a jungle-inspired theme and fun activities for aspiring adventurers. There is also an adults-only pool if you need to slip away for a moment of peace and quiet.

Other notable upgrades include a refreshed pickleball court, lobby, and a new oceanfront terrace.

“[Guests] will be impressed by the variety of experiences to enjoy around our property,” said Oscar Araiza, director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. “A family getaway in the best beach of Puerto Vallarta will be just the start of a memorable experience in this vibrant destination.”

Nightly rates at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta start at $345.
