Trader Joe’s is always stocked with many beloved products—from the vegan-friendly Soy Chorizo to the widely lauded Mandarin Orange Chicken, but the popular grocery chain has never really been a destination for Easter sweets—until now. For spring 2025, Trader Joe’s has stocked a bevy of new treats that are perfect for the Easter holiday, whether you need a host or hostess gift, or have been tasked with creating some delicious, colorful Easter baskets.
On a recent episode of the Inside Trader Joe’s podcast, an employee named Allison—Trader Joe’s category manager for candy and cookies—explained why the chain now sells more Easter items than ever before. “We felt like there was not enough Easter happening in our stores,” Allison explained. “[It’s] a time that there’s bunnies, and eggs, and people looking for things to put in their Easter baskets, and fun festive items for their kids and for gifts. It’s a time when people buy candy and cookies and we have the best candy and cookies out there, so why not offer some Easter-specific items?”
And because Trader Joe’s always goes all out, don’t just expect to find the chain’s standard sweets in Easter-appropriate packaging. “We wanted to lead the innovation. We wanted to find really fun treasure hunt items for our customers,” Allison continued. “I took a trip to London, where they love Easter, and went to some super fancy stores and some super innovative places and got some inspiration.”
See our roundup of must-have Trader Joe’s Easter treats that anyone would be lucky to unwrap on Easter Sunday!
Break Apart Bunny
Trader Joe’s
This adorable bunny was made for Easter baskets. New to Trader Joe’s this year, this sweet treat was inspired by the hot cocoa bombs and other filled chocolates you can find in the United Kingdom. While many chocolate bunnies are hollow, this one, which is unique to TJ’s, is appropriately filled with fruit-flavored gummy carrots. It breaks apart easily, and has earned positive reviews from shoppers so far.
Celebration Cake Pretzels
Trader Joe’s
Celebrate Easter with a sweet and salty snack that never disappoints. In each bag, you’ll find a bunch of lightly salted mini pretzels covered in a sweet and rich vanilla frosting-flavored candy coating. To make things even more celebratory, every pretzel is also studded with rainbow nonpareils.
Fruity Gummy Candies
Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s gummy candies are in a league of their own, and these Fruity Gummy Candies are no exception. Each bag is filled with a fruity mix of pineapple, mango, grapefruit, watermelon, and blueberry-flavored gummies, all shaped like the fruits that inspired them. Plus, these vegetarian friendly gummies are made without artificial dyes or flavors, so you can feel good about snacking on them or gifting them to loved ones.
Milk Chocolate Bunny Bar
Trader Joe’s
Crafted by the same vendor as the Break Apart Bunny, this Milk Chocolate Bunny Bar is another newbie worth adding to your cart. This edible critter is essentially a thick, creamy chocolate bar topped with candy-coated milk chocolate gems, caramel bits, rainbow nonpareils, and a white chocolate drizzle. And not only does it look good, but it tastes good, too.
Italian Confetti Almonds
Trader Joe’s
Zhuzh up any Easter basket (or dessert table) with this Italian treat. Here, Avola almonds, which are grown exclusively in Sicily and are beloved for their marzipan- like flavor, are covered in a thin, white, vanilla-flavored candy coating that adds a touch of sweetness and crunch. The fact that each almond resembles a mini egg is just an apropos bonus.
Chocolate Truffle Eggs
Trader Joe’s
Made of Belgian chocolate, this 7-pack of Chocolate Truffle Eggs were also inspired by similar candies from the United Kingdom. To that end, each egg has a different filling and a different color foil. Shoppers will find one dark chocolate praline egg, one milk chocolate praline egg, one crispy milk chocolate egg, one milk chocolate coconut egg, one dark chocolate pistachio egg, one dark chocolate cookies and crème egg, and one white chocolate praline egg. Perfect for an Easter brunch, these “elevated” eggs are bound to be a hit with kids and grownups alike.
Gourmet Jelly Beans
Trader Joe’s
Made in a candy factory in Ireland, these colorful jelly beans are perfect for Easter or just about any other occasion. They are made using fruit and vegetable extracts for color, and boast 18 distinct flavor profiles, from pomegranate to coconut. Stick a box in a loved one’s Easter basket, or save some of these chewy candies for yourself.
Easter Joe-Joe’s
Trader Joe’s
Joe-Joe’s are a Trader Joe’s classic, and now there’s an Easter version to enjoy this spring. Every box of these festive Joe-Joe’s contains four cookies with a chocolate exterior and vanilla creme center. Additionally, two cookies are covered in milk chocolate and Easter-themed sprinkles, while the remaining pair are coated in white chocolate with pink sanding sugar. Yum!
Cheery Lemon Animal Crackers
Trader Joe’s
Perfect for little ones, these crackers can act as an Easter gift that won’t be followed by a sugar rush. Each adorably shaped cracker boasts a fresh lemon flavor, and is enrobed in yellow yogurt studded with rainbow-colored nonpareils. At less than $1 per bag, you can even buy a few extra bags to enjoy long after Easter is over.
Italian Chocolate Eggs
Trader Joe’s
This egg-ceptional item is “incredible,” according to many TJ’s shoppers. Each box is loaded with pastel-colored “eggs” in four different flavors. The green morsels feature a milk chocolate shell filled with a white chocolate and coffee filling, the orange eggs boast a dark chocolate shell with dark chocolate filling, the pink eggs have a milk chocolate shell with milk chocolate filling, and the lavender eggs are comprised of a milk chocolate shell with hazelnut filling. Hide these inside plastic eggs during the Easter egg hunt, or bring a box as a gift to your Easter host.
